Top Three Priorities
Traffic & Roads
Explore and introduce innovative and cost-effective solutions to address speeding and improve road safety throughout our district
Develop strategies to manage and reduce traffic congestion, making it easier for residents to travel within the district
Invest in creating and maintaining safer sidewalks and bike lanes to enable both children and adults to navigate their neighborhoods more safely and independently
Development
Review and streamline existing zoning regulations to make them more effective, reducing unnecessary complexity and promoting better land use
Enhance planning processes to support more organic neighborhood and small business development
Prioritize development projects that make efficient use of existing urban space while preserving valuable surrounding farmland in order to maintain Lexington’s character and identity
Public Spaces
Seek innovative funding sources, including grants and partnerships, to finance improvements and enhancements to public parks and recreational areas
Work with property owners to improve the aesthetics and functionality of their spaces, creating more inviting semi-public areas that benefit the community
Review and modify regulations that hinder the use and enjoyment of public spaces, making them more accessible and welcoming for all residents
